Dr. Shane Fernando is a public health researcher and educator with extensive experience in epidemiology, survey methodology, and community health. Currently serving as Science and Research Senior Manager at Abt Global, he collaborates with the CDC on major public health initiatives, including the Nursing Home Public Health Response Network and Track Post-COVID Conditions projects. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he led research on vaccine hesitancy, health disparities, and pediatric care while mentoring medical students. A global citizen with experience across three continents, Dr. Fernando remains committed to advancing research, improving health equity, and mentoring future healthcare professionals.
