Teaching Experience
Dr. Shane Fernando is a dedicated educator and mentor, teaching medical students and public health professionals in areas such as epidemiology, research methodology, biostatistics, and health systems practice. He has developed and instructed courses on disease transmission, social determinants of health, and child abuse prevention, while mentoring students through long-term academic and research projects. His commitment to education and interdisciplinary learning helps shape the next generation of healthcare professionals.
MEDE 7513/4: a graduate course averaging 240 year 1 medical students per year on the following topics: social determinants of health, epidemiology, disease transmissions and outbreak investigations
